Mike is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He is currently finishing his last semester in the Master of Social Work program at Aurora University with plans to obtain the Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential.

You can meet with him in-person at the Calmly Centered office or via telehealth within the state of Illinois.

"I believe therapy is about collaboration. I work alongside clients, not above them. Everyone has the capacity to heal and grow. Sometimes we just need the right tools, support, or perspective to access it. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and focused on helping people build practical skills while also exploring deeper personal insights. Mental and emotional health are deeply connected to physical wellness and overall lifestyle, and I aim to support that whole picture."

How He Creates a Healing Space

"I meet clients with genuine care, a calm presence, and zero judgment. I keep things real and relaxed in our sessions and let the client set the pace. We’ll take time to get to know each other, and I’ll always respect where they're at emotionally and mentally, especially at the start of your journey. To build authentic relationships, I show up as a real human, not just a professional. I try to listen deeply, stay present, and create a space where clients feel heard and understood. I believe in creating a therapeutic relationship based on honesty, trust, and a shared sense of purpose where clients feel free to be themselves and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface."

His Methods

"Healing is different for everyone, but I find that combining practical tools (like CBT and DBT) with space for deeper exploration creates the best path forward. I focus on helping clients shift thought patterns, build emotional regulation skills, and reconnect with their core values. When it fits, I also support clients in exploring how physical wellness, movement, nutrition, and creativity can influence mental health."
